Rural Carriers Cannot Cross Road In a recent ruling' by the At torney General of North Carolina, | it is stated that it is a violation ' of the North Carolina law to j drive to the left to serve a rural * letter box on any state maintain 'd highway. There is no distinc tion in this respect between a nived ,highway and an all weather di-'t road. Quite a number of patrons of the rherryville rural routes and especially those living1 on dir* roads have for years been served bv the rural carrier crossing to his left to serve their boxes. This will no longer be permis»able under the above new ruling of the Attorney General. "If your rural box is to the left of the*carrier as he approaches it, you will have to move 't to the other side of the road if you wish to have rural mail service.-’ The law will not let the carrier cross the road to his left to serve ANY rural box.
